Alien Tape is most plausible for small, noncritical mounting jobs on compatible smooth surfaces. Its cut-to-length format lets you use only the amount needed, but that convenience should not be mistaken for a universal replacement for properly selected mechanical fasteners.
The main buying issue is not how dramatic the demonstration looks. It is whether your actual surface, object and removal requirements match the tape. We would not choose it for a valuable mirror, overhead object or rental-wall project on the strength of the advertising alone.

What matters in daily use
The three-roll package supplies 30 feet total, rather than one continuous 30-foot roll. That matters for planning long runs. Double-sided construction bonds the object directly to its support, so repositioning and later removal deserve thought before sticking anything down.
The manufacturer describes rinse-and-dry reuse. Reuse is an advertised capability, not evidence that repeated cleaning restores an original load capacity or that the surface beneath it will remain undamaged. Dust, texture and poor contact remain practical reasons to test a low-consequence application first.

Evidence and unanswered questions
The official written listing gives a 17.5-pound holding claim, while a gallery graphic says up to 30 pounds. That same graphic prints a thickness inconsistent with the written 2 mm specification. We cannot reconcile these into a dependable working-load rating and do not recommend designing a mounting job around either advertised maximum.
Promotional graphics show pictures on walls and say the tape grips any flat surface. The written warning against dry-painted surfaces is narrower and more useful than that broad slogan. The pictured applications are not proof of compatibility with your paint or wall covering.

Fit, care and safety checks
Do not use the tape on a surface expressly excluded by the supplied instructions. Test compatibility and removal in an inconspicuous location, and remember that a successful short test does not establish long-term load security.
Keep breakable, heavy and safety-critical objects on suitable rated supports. Water resistance is not permission to make structural repairs, hang items over people or substitute this mounting tape for a plumbing seal. Flex Tape is a different product and application.

Before ordering
Match SKU 7087 and the three 10-foot rolls. Different pack quantities may change the delivered amount without changing the underlying tape. Check the actual packaging for surface preparation, removal instructions and dimensions.
If clean removal from painted drywall is the central requirement, look for a mounting system that explicitly supports that surface and follow its object-weight and removal instructions. Alien Tape’s universal-surface advertising does not resolve its own painted-surface warning.

Does it safely hold 30 pounds?
The current manufacturer sources disagree on advertised holding strength. We have no independent working-load evidence and would not treat 30 pounds as a safe design limit.
Is this the same as Alien Draft Seal?
No. This is double-sided mounting tape. Alien Draft Seal is a different strip intended for gaps around doors and windows.
Can I use it on painted walls?
The manufacturer written listing warns against dry-painted surfaces. Do not infer approval from gallery pictures of wall-mounted objects.
