Verdict: consider the exclusions before choosing an all-purpose kit

CAR GUYS Super Cleaner is a possible fit for someone who wants one wipe-off cleaner for compatible vehicle fabrics and trim. It is a less convincing choice when the main job is glass, touchscreens or adding protection after cleaning. Buying fewer bottles helps only if the remaining bottle is actually suitable for the surfaces you clean most.

This research-based review covers the 18 oz kit with a microfiber towel, ASIN B071XB18BF. We have not tested stain removal, odor, residue, drying time or sprayer reliability. Historical independent criticism and missing verified ingredient detail mean we would compare alternatives before choosing it solely from enthusiastic marketplace claims.

Reasons to consider it

  • Cleaner and microfiber cloth in one kit
  • Wipe-off method avoids a separate water rinse
  • Several compatible interior-material applications

Trade-offs

  • No glass, screen or delicate-leather use
  • No UV protection
  • Historical test criticized nozzle, odor and drying

Facts: a cleaner and towel, with no UV protection

The manufacturer identifies two included items: an 18-ounce Super Cleaner bottle and a Professional Series microfiber cloth. The exact Amazon selection agrees and uses model number 8542145820. This is not the gallon refill or a bundle of cleaner and separate protectant.

The official FAQ describes a water-based wipe-off formula that does not require a water rinse and says it contains no UV protectant. Wiping dirty product away is still necessary. Cleaning, conditioning, disinfecting and protecting are separate functions; no verified disinfecting claim or all-in-one leather-care performance is established here.

Features: plan the wiping work, not just the spray

CAR GUYS lists applications including upholstery, carpet, vinyl, plastic and several leather types. Treat this as the manufacturer’s range of intended uses, subject to exclusions and the vehicle or material maker’s directions. A surface described simply as leather may have a finish requiring specific care.

The supplied cloth makes this a small starter kit, but a dirty interior can need additional clean towels. Reusing a loaded cloth across the whole cabin may redistribute grime. The useful buying comparison is therefore the cleaner plus the towels and separate products your particular car still needs.

Before choosing a bottle, divide the job by material: fabric seats, coated trim, windows and electronic displays. If most of the work falls into excluded categories, this kit will not simplify much. If permitted upholstery and trim dominate, a shared cleaner could make preparation easier. That is a workflow judgment, not evidence of superior cleaning chemistry.

Research: the comparative coverage was historical and critical

Autoweek’s comparison was published July 19, 2022, despite its current 2025 headline. Its testers reported a leaking nozzle, an unpleasant odor and slower drying, and declined to recommend Super Cleaner. Those observations belong to that historical test, not this review or every current bottle. Inclusion was not an award.

No present viral momentum or exact-kit sales trend was established. The age of the test is a limitation, but it is not a reason to erase inconvenient results. We also have no evidence that a documented formula or sprayer change resolves those particular complaints.

The manufacturer’s help center directs readers to request an SDS or ingredients list. We did not obtain an authenticated current SDS, so we do not infer specific ingredients, pH, hazard classification or exposure safety. Water-based and non-toxic marketing language cannot substitute for that information.

Safety and directions: control where the product goes

The official directions say to shake the bottle and remove loose dirt first. For light soil, apply to a cloth, wipe, then buff with its clean side. For heavier compatible upholstery soil, apply to the surface, agitate and use a separate clean towel to remove dirty suds. Work in small sections and do not let the product dry by itself.

Do not use it on glass or delicate instrument/navigation screens. The official use graphic also excludes clear instrument-cluster plastics, suede and Alcantara; the exact Amazon graphic adds nubuck. Spray onto the cloth near excluded surfaces to control overspray. Follow the actual upholstery care label and pre-test where the material maker allows the cleaner.

Read the bottle’s full warnings before use. As general cleaner precautions, ventilate the work area, avoid eye contact, keep the bottle away from children and do not mix it with other cleaners. Use the label’s protective-equipment instructions. Never treat a car-interior cleaner as authorization to clean child-seat harnesses or other safety equipment against their instructions.

Buying: verify the authorized seller and exact kit

CAR GUYS says its authorized channel is Amazon US with CAR GUYS as seller and Amazon as shipper. Our exact-ASIN capture showed CAR GUYS seller identification and Amazon-fulfillment metadata. Recheck those fields in the selected offer because sellers can change.

Confirm 18 oz plus towel, the delivery terms, return conditions and final total. No live price or stock promise is published here. If you need an ingredient list before choosing a household chemical, obtain it from CAR GUYS support before purchase. Do not substitute a similarly named SDS from an unverified third-party domain.
