Verdict: a reasonable upgrade if your current brush catches
The regular FHI Heat UNbrush in Aurora is worth considering if you want a lightweight detangling brush with a flexible, open-backed head. Its appeal is the combination of two bristle lengths and easy access for cleaning. The important question is whether that feel suits your hair and technique; a dramatic detangling video cannot answer it for you.
This is a research-based review of the original regular brush, model AC0013GT and Amazon ASIN B07ZG4GGBY. We have not tested pulling, breakage, blow-dry speed, or durability. If the brush you already own handles tangles comfortably, the Aurora color alone offers little reason to replace it.
Reasons to consider it
- Lightweight handle and flexible bristles
- Open back makes trapped hair easier to see
- Manufacturer supplies clear cleaning directions
Trade-offs
- Comfort and detangling results vary
- Requires gentle technique despite marketing claims
- Original brush is not covered by FHI Heat’s tool warranty

Facts: the regular Aurora version
FHI Heat identifies Aurora as AC0013GT. The gray handle and green-turquoise bristles match the selected Amazon color; this listing is one regular brush. Mini, Plus, Flex, and Curl are separate products with their own designs.
The official specification lists 105 bristles: 58 long and 47 short. It gives the handle-and-brush weight as 1.5 ounces. The open vent pattern is readily visible in the manufacturer photographs. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from our own sample.

Features: flexible bristles and an open-backed head
Different bristle lengths give the brush several contact points through a section of hair. The flexible construction is intended to work through knots with less rigid resistance. Treat that as a design rationale rather than permission to pull harder: when a knot stops the brush, reduce the section and work gradually.
The vented head also lets you see and remove shed strands instead of leaving them hidden behind a solid cushion. That is a useful housekeeping advantage for anyone who uses styling products regularly. A brush that is easy to inspect still needs washing; an open back does not establish that it stays hygienic by itself.
FHI Heat markets wet-and-dry use. In practice, choose the timing and tool that suit your texture and existing care routine. A brush is also a different purchase from a heated styling tool: this one has no motor, temperature setting, or powered drying function.

Research: what the TikTok attention establishes
Glamour’s August 11, 2025 guide described UNbrush as widely seen on TikTok and included the product family among its detangling picks. This is dated editorial evidence of social attention. It does not measure current reach, verify a new viral surge, or establish demand for Aurora specifically.
Our recommendation rests on the documented design and ownership requirements, rather than popularity. We have not adopted the brand’s numerical breakage or drying-time claims as results of this review. Hair condition, section size, conditioner, and technique can all change the experience, so a promised percentage would give a misleading impression of certainty.

Safety and care: wet-hair marketing needs context
The American Academy of Dermatology advises gentle detangling and generally recommends a wide-tooth comb for wet hair, beginning at the ends. Its curly-hair guidance allows fingers, a wide-tooth comb, or a brush designed for curly or coily hair, with conditioner and manageable sections. Wet-and-dry suitability is therefore not a universal recommendation to brush every texture in the same way.
For cleaning, FHI Heat says to remove loose hair, swish the brush in warm water with mild soap, rinse, and leave it on a towel with bristles facing up. Let it dry completely. Inspect for bent or broken bristles, and stop if brushing causes scalp irritation. Do not treat a new brush as a remedy for unexplained shedding or a scalp condition.

Buying: check the version and the return terms
Confirm regular size, Aurora color, one-count quantity, and ASIN B07ZG4GGBY before ordering. A Mini or Plus listing may look similar in a thumbnail. Compare the final delivered cost and seller rather than assuming every search result refers to this brush.
FHI Heat’s FAQ says UNbrush is excluded from its hair-tool warranty. Check the actual retailer return terms, especially if comfort is your main uncertainty. No current price, stock level, seller authorization, or trial entitlement is promised here.

Questions: before you switch brushes
Is Aurora the same as Aurora Mint?
The official page uses Aurora in the product title and Aurora Mint in its page title. Model AC0013GT and the gray-and-green appearance identify the version reviewed here.
Can it replace a wide-tooth comb?
Possibly for your styling routine, but keep the tool that works gently for your texture. Dermatology guidance still favors a wide-tooth comb for many wet-hair situations.
Does it guarantee painless detangling?
No. Work in small sections and stop at resistance. Flexible bristles cannot guarantee that every knot will release without pulling.
How should it dry after washing?
FHI Heat recommends laying it on a towel with the bristles pointing up and letting it air dry completely before reuse.
