Our research-based verdict

Flex Super Glue makes the most sense for small repairs where accurately aligning two clean pieces is more important than building a thick waterproof seal. The interesting choice is not the branding but the delivery format: a flowing liquid, a thicker gel, or a brush that spreads adhesive across an accessible area. We would choose the format around the repair rather than buy the largest bottle automatically.

This is not interchangeable with Flex Glue, Flex Paste or the company's underwater repair products. If you need generous repositioning time, a flexible coating or a repair with serious load-bearing consequences, do not use the word “super” as your specification. We have not measured bond strength, shock resistance or durability against competing cyanoacrylate glues.

Reasons to consider it

  • Liquid, gel and brush-on options serve genuinely different placement needs.
  • Small twin tubes offer an alternative to one larger bottle.

Trade-offs

  • Fast setting leaves little margin for alignment errors.
  • Food-contact and drinking-water repairs are excluded by the manufacturer guide.
  • Marketing strength demonstrations do not specify a safe working load.

Which bottles and packs are covered?

This review covers the Flex Super Glue family, with the 20 g liquid bottle as the main comparison point. The gallery also identifies the 20 g gel bottle, 10 g brush-on liquid and a twin pack containing two 3 g liquid tubes. These are alternatives, not one included assortment. A separate 3 g gel twin pack also appears in the current selector.

Choosing liquid, gel or brush-on

The manufacturer recommends the thin liquid for horizontal, nonporous surfaces and the thicker gel for vertical or porous surfaces. The brush-on version changes how the liquid is placed, not the fundamental job of joining surfaces. Think about access before buying: can you position a nozzle directly over the joint, or is a brush easier to keep on the intended area?

The how-to instructions specify clean, dry surfaces, a small quantity of adhesive and pressure until set. They recommend one drop per square inch for the nozzle formats. More glue is not automatically a stronger repair, and the short setting interval makes a dry run worthwhile: confirm the pieces fit and arrange how you will hold them before dispensing.

The two small tubes may be attractive for occasional separated jobs, while a bottle makes more sense when you expect repeat use. That is a convenience judgment, not a shelf-life guarantee. Cap the chosen container promptly, keep the tip clean according to the label and store it upright in a cool, dry place.

What the evidence supports

We reviewed the official product information, format-specific reference guide and application instructions on October 16, 2026. They support the size and handling distinctions above. They do not provide this editorial team with a measured comparison against another super glue or proof that every plastic will bond reliably.

The product page includes a dramatic lifting demonstration. We do not treat that as a general load rating, and this review makes no numerical strength claim from it. Geometry, material and application are part of a real repair. The older guide also lists a 15 g size that is not in the current main selector; we have not presented it as the package you should expect to receive.

The small bottle still requires care

The product warning identifies ethyl cyanoacrylate and warns that it bonds skin and eyes immediately and may irritate the respiratory tract. Avoid inhalation and contact; keep it away from children and follow the label's protection and first-aid directions. Do not use it as a skin adhesive.

The reference guide excludes wet-surface application, food and potable-water uses, and objects intended for an oven or microwave. A repaired mug decoration is not the same as a food-safe repaired drinking surface. For valuable finishes, test compatibility away from view before committing to the joint; adhesive and removal chemicals can make an initially small mistake harder to reverse.

Check the format, not just the name

Confirm liquid versus gel, nozzle versus brush, grams per container and number of containers. A “2 pack” of 3 g tubes is not two 20 g bottles. Compare the amount you will actually use before price per gram becomes the deciding metric.

Common buying questions

Is gel simply stronger than liquid?

The manufacturer describes the same final bonding performance but different flow characteristics. We have not independently compared their strengths.

Can I use it underwater like other Flex products?

No. The Super Glue reference guide recommends clean, dry surfaces and excludes wet-surface application.

Is the set time the full cure time?

No. The current instructions distinguish a short setting interval from a cure period of up to an hour, which varies by application.

Are all pictured formats in one pack?

No. Each gallery image identifies a separately sold format or pack.
