Verdict: a flexible single-cup brewer with a real size limit
The HARIO V60 SWITCH 02 is worth considering when you enjoy making one modest cup of coffee and want to choose when steeping ends. Closing its valve holds the brew; opening it lets coffee drain through a paper filter. That gives a manual routine a useful control point without adding a motor, battery or countertop machine.
This research-based review covers the glass SSD-200-B with black silicone base, Amazon ASIN B07NS2SV3W. We have not brewed with it or measured extraction, temperature retention, drawdown time or valve durability. Our recommendation depends on two things: whether its 200 mL finished immersion capacity suits your drink, and whether you are comfortable with plastic contacting brewed coffee.
Reasons to consider it
- Steep-and-release and conventional pour-over options
- Uses standard size 02 V60 paper filters
- Compact manual design
Trade-offs
- 200 mL finished immersion capacity is modest
- PCT-resin trigger contacts brewed coffee
- Glass and small valve parts need careful handling

Facts: size 02, not the larger 03
HARIO lists the SSD-200-B at 118 × 115 × 133 mm, with a borosilicate-glass cone, silicone-rubber base, PCT-resin switch and stainless-steel ball. The exact Amazon page identifies size 02 and the same model number. Both the US manufacturer page and listing describe an included pack of 40 size 02 filters.
The larger size 03 is a different product. The 02 number identifies the cone and filter size; it should not be translated into four full-size mugs of immersion coffee. A recipe that drains between pours may use more total water than a single closed-valve steep, but that does not increase the bowl’s one-fill capacity.

Features: one valve, several possible routines
The switch moves a steel ball that controls the outlet. With the valve closed, grounds and water remain together until you release the brew. With it open, the cone can function as a conventional V60. Our practical inference is that this flexibility is appealing to someone who wants to experiment with immersion and percolation using one dripper.
That flexibility also creates choices. You still supply suitable coffee, a filter, hot water, a receiving vessel and a repeatable recipe. A scale and timer can help you repeat your own routine, but the dripper does not manage water temperature or grind size. Changing several variables at once will make it harder to understand why one cup differs from another.
The most useful capacity check is to measure the coffee you normally drink. If your everyday mug is much larger than 200 mL, decide whether brewing in stages is acceptable before buying. Someone who wants a large, unattended breakfast batch may find this small manual format an awkward fit regardless of its popularity.

Research: genuine discussion, with clear evidence limits
A r/pourover discussion observed on October 12, 2026 specifically names a newly purchased Switch 02 and asks about brewing methods. It supports ongoing enthusiast interest in the model family. The purchase was through an Indian retailer, so it does not establish demand for this US ASIN, a current sales ranking or measured viral momentum.
We compared HARIO’s current US specifications with the exact Amazon identity and images. The official manual link was located, but its PDF returned an access error during source research. We therefore make no manual-based dishwasher, microwave or heating claim. Comments and demonstration photographs are not substitutes for the instructions supplied with your unit.

Safety: hot coffee, fragile glass and correct reassembly
Use a stable, suitably sized cup or server and keep the filled dripper secure. Hot liquid can burn, and glass can break if knocked or handled carelessly. Allow parts to cool before cleaning or disassembly, inspect for damage and follow HARIO’s supplied instructions when putting the valve components back together.
The manufacturer explicitly states that the plastic trigger contacts brewed coffee. A glass cone therefore does not make this a plastic-free brewing path. If avoiding all plastic contact is a firm requirement, choose a different design. We have not conducted material-migration testing and do not infer a health guarantee or hazard from the material list alone.

Buying: check the brewing format before the offer
Confirm size 02, model SSD-200-B and the filter bundle, rather than assuming every Switch listing includes the same pieces. Check that your receiving vessel accommodates the base securely and compare ongoing filter costs. Images may show a scale, kettle or glass server used for staging; those are not included by this dripper-and-filter listing.

Questions: before choosing the Switch 02
Can it make regular pour-over coffee?
Yes. The outlet can remain open for pour-over brewing, or be closed for an immersion stage. It is manually controlled.
Is it plastic-free?
No. HARIO identifies a PCT-resin trigger and states that it contacts brewed coffee.
Does it make espresso?
No. It filters manually brewed coffee and does not create espresso-machine pressure.
Can I put every part in the dishwasher?
This review does not establish that permission. The official PDF was inaccessible; use the care instructions supplied with the exact model or ask HARIO.
