Our research-based verdict
Kitchen Mama Auto 2.0 is a meaningful alternative to the previously reviewed Auto 1.0, rather than merely a new color. The stated changes are its tilted blade design and built-in lid remover, with support for some slanted-edge cans. It is worth considering if a manual turning knob is the part of opening cans you dislike, but it does not remove every handling step.
The most important qualification is the control sequence: press to start and press again to stop. Auto 2.0 is battery-powered, but it is not the brand’s automatic-shutoff or rechargeable model. We have not tested opening time, noise, battery life, lid-edge smoothness or suitability for a particular person’s hand limitations.
Reasons to consider it
- Motorized cutting avoids continuous manual cranking.
- Dedicated lid-removal feature distinguishes it from Auto 1.0.
- Manufacturer identifies support for slanted-edge and soda-can designs.
Trade-offs
- Requires a second button press to stop.
- Four AA alkaline batteries are not supplied.
- Wipe-clean only; cannot be rinsed under a tap.
Which Auto 2.0 is this?
The reviewed navy-blue configuration is CO1150-N. The official specifications identify a stainless-steel blade and four AA alkaline batteries. The gallery also uses the manufacturer’s feature illustrations in Onyx Mist, Burgundy Mist and Emerald Mist. These are separate color choices of Auto 2.0, not additional openers included with the navy unit.
Do not confuse packaging measurements with the opener’s own dimensions, or mix features from Orbit One, Mini Plus and One-Touch into this listing. Kitchen Mama sells several similar-looking products, so the Auto 2.0 model name is the essential identity check.

A wider use case, with the same need to supervise
The manufacturer’s compatibility FAQ specifically distinguishes Auto 2.0 and Orbit One for unusual rims such as slanted edges and soda cans. That supports a broader intended use than the original model, but it is not a guarantee for every can geometry or condition. Look at the cans you actually buy before choosing an opener around a promotional demonstration.
A powered cutting cycle can reduce repetitive turning, yet you must still position the device, operate its button and deal with the detached lid. Our practical view is that these individual steps matter more than the word hands-free. If a recipient needs assistance, consider whether they can perform each step comfortably rather than assuming a motor alone solves the task.

What the sources support
We checked the US product page and manufacturer support articles on October 16, 2026. They establish the battery type, operating sequence, cleaning restrictions and the claimed difference in can compatibility. We have no independent test data showing how many cans one battery set opens or how reliably the opener handles thick or irregular rims.
The support article also clarifies the magnet’s role: it helps lift a fully cut lid but is not expected to pull it completely free in every situation. This is an important limit on advertising that can otherwise sound like a fully unattended process. Smooth-edge and ease-of-use language should be treated as manufacturer claims, not our test results.

Keep the electronics dry and the lid under control
The cleaning FAQ directs owners to use a damp towel and prohibits immersion, running-water rinsing and dishwasher cleaning. Plan for that restriction if your current routine is to rinse a manual opener immediately after use. Inspect the cutting area rather than assuming that a wipe of the outer casing removes food residue everywhere.
Use AA alkaline batteries as specified. The manufacturer warns against mixing old and new cells or combining battery chemistries. Do not assume that rechargeable or lithium AA cells are an interchangeable approved choice for this model. Handle the lid carefully even when a product promises a smooth cut, and confirm that the cut has finished before attempting removal.

Buy the operating mode you actually want
If automatic shutoff is the requirement, this is the wrong model to select solely because its name begins with Auto. If you want charging rather than replaceable cells, choose a specifically rechargeable product instead. Conversely, replaceable batteries may suit someone who does not want another cable, provided they keep suitable cells available.
