Verdict: simple reusable noise reduction, with fit as the deciding factor

Loop Quiet 2 in Black is a sensible option if you want a small, washable pair of passive earplugs for reading, studying, or travel. It suits someone who values reduced background sound and is prepared to experiment with ear-tip sizes. Comfort and a reliable seal matter more than the familiar ring-shaped appearance.

This is a research-based review of Quiet 2, Amazon ASIN B0D3V61JC8. We have not tested attenuation, overnight comfort, or long-term durability. Expect softened sound rather than silence, and consider another approach when clear conversation or awareness of announcements is essential.

Reasons to consider it

  • Soft silicone construction without charging
  • Four included ear-tip sizes
  • Washable body and removable tips
  • Small protective carry case

Trade-offs

  • Fit determines much of the result
  • Speech and your own voice can sound different
  • Tips need cleaning and periodic replacement
  • No promise of silence or all-night comfort

Facts: Black Quiet 2 and its two rating systems

The reviewed pair is the standard Quiet 2 in Black, not Quiet 2 Plus, Dream, or Switch. The package includes a pair of earplugs, four pairs of silicone tips in XS, S, M, and L, and a carry case. There are no electronics, batteries, audio playback, or active noise cancellation.

Loop’s international product page lists up to 24 dB SNR, while its US page lists 14 dB NRR. Those are different rating systems and must remain labeled. Neither figure is a promise to subtract that amount from every sound in every wearer’s ears.

Features: find a comfortable seal before judging the product

The loop gives you a place to hold the earplug while fitting it. Loop instructs users to insert gently, then twist slightly backward until the ring sits comfortably. Loose plugs may need a larger tip; excessive tightness or protrusion may call for a smaller one. Do not force an uncomfortable tip farther into the ear.

Try the fit in a familiar, safe setting before a flight or a long work session. Check whether you can wear the pair comfortably, whether jaw movement loosens it, and whether the altered sound is acceptable. A good purchase for quiet solo work may be an inconvenient choice for repeated conversations.

Loop explains the noticeable sound of your own voice as occlusion, a common effect of earplugs. Quiet 2 is therefore worth approaching as a personal-comfort experiment. If you dislike that sensation, a fashionable shape will not make it disappear.

Research: documented popularity, without borrowing other models’ results

Marie Claire’s guide, published August 22, 2025, described the Loop family as viral and included Quiet 2 among its reviewed options. That establishes historical editorial attention. It does not verify current social reach, Black-variant sales, or a particular result for your ears.

Loop’s range includes products aimed at different situations. This article does not transfer music-clarity claims from Experience, conversational features from Engage, or sleep-specific construction from Dream. The recommendation comes from Quiet 2’s documented passive design, fitting options, and care needs; no customer star average has been converted into an editorial score.

Safety and care: reduced sound also means reduced awareness

Consider alarms, traffic, doorbells, and other signals you may need to hear. Check awareness in a safe environment and avoid relying on earplugs where missing a warning could put you at risk. Stop if they cause pain or irritation, and keep small earplugs and tips away from children and pets.

For hazardous workplace noise, choose protection through an appropriate exposure assessment and fit test. NIOSH recommends individual quantitative fit testing for workers; a package rating alone does not establish the protection a particular person receives. Loop also warns that some high-noise situations require stronger protection.

Quiet 2 can be washed with water or wiped with a damp cloth and soapy water. Remove the tips for a deeper clean, dry all parts completely, and avoid harsh chemicals or sharp tools. Loop recommends replacing silicone tips every three to six months. Confirm that replacements are explicitly compatible with Quiet 2.

Buying: allow room for fit and replacement-tip costs

Confirm Quiet 2, Black, and ASIN B0D3V61JC8. Compare the final offer, seller, delivery, and applicable returns. Do not assume a trial advertised on Loop’s own store automatically applies to an Amazon order.

Include replacement-tip cost in the comparison with disposable earplugs you already tolerate. Reusability is most valuable when you clean the pair and keep it in its case instead of losing it. This review gives no current price or inventory promise and does not recommend Quiet 2 as treatment for a sleep or hearing condition.

Questions: everyday use and model differences

Does Quiet 2 actively cancel noise?

No. Silicone tips form a passive barrier. There is no microphone, speaker, battery, or electronic cancellation system.

Will 24 dB SNR mean total silence?

No. Sound remains audible, and real performance depends on fit and the environment. The US 14 dB NRR is a separate rating.

Can I use tips from another Loop model?

Choose replacements specifically listed for Quiet 2. Similar-looking tips are not proof of compatibility.

Is it automatically comfortable for side sleeping?

No. Ear shape, tip size, pressure against the pillow, and personal tolerance matter. We have not performed an overnight comfort test.
