Our research-based verdict

MicroTouch Solo Titanium is most appealing as a compact, rechargeable beard-maintenance tool for someone who wants short comb settings and an exposed edge for outlining. It combines trimming and edging in one head rather than asking you to switch between several large attachments. That convenience is a more defensible reason to consider it than the package’s promise of no irritation.

We would shortlist it for dry, occasional grooming if the replacement-blade cost and brush-only cleaning suit your routine. We would look elsewhere for shower use, long-beard shaping or a maintenance-free blade. We have not shaved with Solo Titanium, measured its closeness against a wet razor, or tested whether it irritates sensitive skin. The manufacturer’s instructions are more qualified than the broad claims on the box.

Reasons to consider it

  • Short combs and a dual-sided edge support different beard-maintenance tasks.
  • Rechargeable operation avoids disposable AA batteries.

Trade-offs

  • Dry use and brush cleaning are restrictive.
  • Replacement blades are part of ownership.
  • Three short combs do not provide a broad beard-length range.

Solo Titanium, with the short comb set

The pictured US Solo Titanium package identifies a lithium-ion rechargeable tool, three trimming combs, USB charging cable and cleaning brush. The rear panel labels the combs 1, 3 and 5 mm. This is not the narrow AA-powered Titanium Max or the long-handled Titanium Trim. Check the full model name rather than ordering from the word “MicroTouch” alone.

One head, different kinds of control

The head’s broad face is used differently from its edge. A short comb can maintain a selected stubble length, while an exposed edge can define a line. That reduces accessory changes, but it still requires a steady hand. An unwanted edge cannot be put back simply because the tool is marketed as an all-in-one groomer.

The 1, 3 and 5 mm combs cover short looks rather than every beard style. Someone who wants a closely controlled intermediate length or a longer beard should compare an adjustable model before purchasing. Photos of a full beard demonstrate an intended use, not proof that all of that beard is being cut to the same length.

The reviewed regional manual specifies about four hours for charging and about 45 minutes of operation. Treat those as planning figures, not a guarantee across battery age, hair density and use. Because the manual prohibits use while plugged in, a depleted battery can interrupt grooming even when a USB outlet is nearby. Keeping the correct cable with the tool is part of the convenience calculation.

The package is not a skin-safety study

We reviewed the exact retail package images, the manufacturer’s regional Solo Titanium instructions and the current official replacement-blade storefront on October 16, 2026. The manual identifies the same Solo Titanium design, but regional bundles may differ. The instructions supplied with the actual unit should control charging and maintenance.

The rear package’s “no nicks, no bumps, no irritation” wording is not supported here by independent comparative testing. The manual itself warns about sensitive or irritated skin and calls for a small-area check before first use. We do not convert the titanium description or a pivoting-head photograph into an irritation-free recommendation. Current replacement-blade listings confirm a consumable exists, not that every old and new MicroTouch head is interchangeable.

Do not treat it as a wet shaver

The reviewed manufacturer instructions explicitly say dry use only, no shower use and no water or shaving foam. They also forbid rinsing the blade: gently clear hair with the supplied brush instead. Unplug before use or cleaning and do not submerge the tool.

The blade is described as fragile, so inspect it and the combs before using them. Stop if the head is damaged or the skin reacts. The reviewed regional manual recommends replacement when cutting results deteriorate and gives a typical one-to-two-month interval; that is manufacturer guidance, not a measured lifespan we can promise. A buyer who dislikes frequent small-part purchases should factor this in before choosing the razor.

Include replacement heads in the comparison

Compare the tool plus a realistic supply of exact Solo Titanium replacement blades, rather than judging value by the handle alone. Check that replacements are available from a seller you trust and that their compatibility is explicit. Do not assume a cheaper Solo, Max or generic head will fit because the packaging looks related.

The tagged Amazon link is a search, not a verified current listing. Match Solo Titanium, its comb set, cable and seller, then check whether a wall adapter is included; the regional manual says it is not. Review the opened-grooming-product return terms.

Common buying questions

Can I use it with shaving foam?

Not under the reviewed manufacturer instructions: Solo Titanium is for dry use without water or foam.

Can I rinse the removable blade?

The manual says not to rinse it. Use the cleaning brush and follow the instructions supplied with your exact unit.

Are blades a one-time purchase?

No. The head is replaceable, and declining cutting results are a reason to check the manufacturer’s replacement guidance.

Does a USB cable mean I can shave while charging?

No. The manual specifically prohibits using the trimmer while it is plugged in.
