Our research-based verdict
MicroTouch Titanium Max makes the most sense as a small detail trimmer, not an all-purpose haircut machine. Its narrow exposed cutting head, light and two comb attachments suit occasional tidying around brows, sideburns and other small areas. The single replaceable AA battery is convenient if you prefer keeping a spare to remembering a charging cable.
We would compare it with other precision trimmers when access matters more than covering a large area quickly. We would not choose it as the only tool for cutting a full head of hair or expect its small comb selection to replace an adjustable beard trimmer. The most important compromise is less glamorous than the titanium branding: this is a dry-use, brush-clean device. We have not tested closeness, pulling, noise or blade life.
Reasons to consider it
- A narrow head and built-in light support targeted touch-ups.
- Replaceable AA power avoids a charging wait.
Trade-offs
- The head must not be rinsed.
- Two comb lengths offer limited style adjustment.
- Advertising does not establish irritation-free performance.
Titanium Max is the small precision model
The reviewed product is Titanium Max, identified by Lowe’s as MTTTMAXQP72. It is not the comb-shaped Titanium Trim or the rechargeable Solo Titanium. The retailer lists one AA battery and two comb attachments; JML also identifies a cap and cleaning brush in its regional pack. Check the actual package rather than assuming every seller includes the same extras.
| Power | One replaceable AA battery |
|---|---|
| Attachments | Two combs, each offering 2 mm and 4 mm orientations |
| Cleaning | Brush the head; only removed combs may be washed |
| Light | Built-in light operates with the trimmer |

The two combs are not four separate guards
The manufacturer’s directions distinguish a two-sided comb for shorter eyebrow or mustache hair from an angled body comb for longer hair. Both offer 2 mm and 4 mm choices. Orientation matters: the intended length must face the correct way, and the attachment grooves must align with the head. More attachments would not automatically make it better, but buyers who need intermediate lengths should notice the limited range.
The elongated head can be positioned more selectively than a broad clipper blade. That is a reason to consider this shape, not proof it will be comfortable in every awkward spot. Work slowly with good visibility rather than treating the light as a substitute for a mirror. A narrow tool still requires care near the eyes and delicate skin.
Replaceable batteries also change the ownership routine. You can restore power without waiting for a built-in battery to charge, but you must buy and store the right battery. A weak cut is not automatically a failed motor: the instructions direct users to clean and maintain the blades before replacing the battery when performance slows.

What the sources establish
We checked the manufacturer-authored instruction sheet, the exact Lowe’s listing and JML’s distributor page on October 16, 2026. These establish the format, power source and attachment system. They do not provide a controlled comparison with another trimmer, a reliable years-of-use estimate or a measured skin-irritation rate.
JML advertises greater power than a previous version, but the comparison lacks the test conditions needed for a buying score. Likewise, the words “professional grade” on packaging are marketing, not independent certification of salon performance. We have not imported retailer star ratings as our own assessment. JML’s published dimensions are explicitly packaging measurements, so they are not presented here as the device’s size.

Keep water away from the cutting head
The instruction sheet says water can damage the trimmer and specifically forbids washing the head. Turn the tool off and remove the battery for cleaning; use the supplied brush rather than a sharp object to clear debris. Washed comb attachments must be completely dry before reuse.
This cleaning restriction is worth deciding on before purchase. If rinsing under the tap is central to your routine, buy a model whose own instructions permit it instead of assuming all small trimmers are waterproof. Do not read broad “hair anywhere” copy as permission to push a blade deeply into the nose or ear. Keep use controlled and stop if a damaged head or uncomfortable pulling makes the operation unsafe.

Buy the tool, not an ambiguous listing title
Match Titanium Max, the slim head and AA power in the listing photos. Titanium Trim and Solo Titanium serve different purposes despite sharing the brand. The official storefront also warns about counterfeit sellers; a familiar product name alone does not verify the item or its support.
Our tagged Amazon link opens a search because an exact current offer has not been verified. Review the seller, condition, cap, combs, cleaning brush and battery inclusion before comparing totals. Check the retailer’s hygiene-product return conditions before opening the pack.

Common buying questions
Can I rinse Titanium Max?
Not the trimmer head. The instructions allow washing only the removed comb attachments, followed by thorough drying.
Is it rechargeable?
This Titanium Max uses one replaceable AA battery, not a built-in rechargeable pack.
Does it include four length guards?
No. Two attachments each have 2 mm and 4 mm orientations; the shape and direction determine their use.
Will it replace a full-size clipper?
Its narrow head and limited lengths make it a detail tool rather than our choice for a complete haircut.
