Our research-based verdict
Mr. Lid is most appealing when your problem is matching containers to their lids, not when you simply need more plastic boxes. Each lid remains connected to its container, so an open cupboard no longer needs a separate lid pile for these pieces. The 17-piece bundle is a sensible candidate for snacks, small leftovers and sandwich storage. It is less convincing as a dedicated set of large meal-prep containers.
The catch is the size distribution. Nine of the seventeen containers hold one cup or less, and the largest listed size is four cups. The impressive piece count therefore should not be read as seventeen dinner-size servings. Our verdict is to consider the set if those small portions match your routine, but choose by capacity rather than the headline count. We have not tested the hinges, staining, lid seals or long-term durability.
Reasons to consider it
- Attached lids avoid a separate lid-matching task.
- Containers can nest open and stack when closed.
- The published assortment includes several useful small sizes.
Trade-offs
- Nine containers hold one cup or less.
- An attached lid takes space beside an open container.
- Leak resistance is not a verified leak-proof travel result.
Exactly what the 17-piece bundle contains
The current manufacturer listing counts seventeen containers with attached lids, not seventeen loose components divided between bases and lids. It specifies six half-cup containers, three one-cup containers, three two-cup containers, three four-cup containers and two sandwich containers. The sandwich size is stated as 2.25 cups, or 18 fluid ounces.
An older retailer description uses a different sandwich-ounce figure. We use the current official bundle page and the current individual sandwich listing, which agree on 18 ounces. If a seller has older packaging, ask which assortment it supplies rather than assuming every box bearing the Mr. Lid name is identical.

What attached lids change in everyday use
The benefit is organizational rather than mechanical complexity: the right lid travels with the box. That can help when packing several small ingredients or returning washed containers to a drawer. The manufacturer shows containers nested with their lids open and stacked when closed. Those are different storage arrangements, so measure space for the arrangement you actually plan to use.
An attached lid also means you cannot simply put the lid somewhere else while filling the container. Leave enough room for it to swing open on the counter, in a lunch-packing area and during washing. This is a trade-off, not necessarily a defect. Someone with a wide drawer may prefer the connected system; someone with a narrow drying rack may find separate lids easier to position.

What the evidence supports
We checked the official bundle, individual sandwich listing and brand feature information on October 16, 2026. The brand describes the containers as BPA-free, made in the United States, airtight and leak-resistant. These are manufacturer statements, not independent food-contact testing or measured seal performance from this review.
The distinction between leak-resistant and leak-proof matters most for soup, dressing and other liquids carried sideways. We would not choose the set specifically for that use without a seller-backed assurance appropriate to the contents and orientation. Likewise, a demonstration of a flexible hinge does not establish a tested number of opening cycles. No durability score is assigned here.

Care, heating and cleaning checks
The manufacturer advertises microwave, dishwasher and freezer suitability. Follow the instructions and markings supplied with the actual containers for heating, lid position and placement. Those broad claims do not establish oven or stovetop compatibility, and this review found no reason to treat the boxes as cookware.
Clean the attached-lid area as well as the main bowl and allow the pieces to dry before nesting. Inspect the lid and hinge rather than assuming an attached part cannot wear or become damaged. For a dishwasher load, plan space that exposes the interior to washing water instead of tightly nesting dirty containers together. These are practical handling considerations, not findings from a cleaning test.

Buy the assortment, not just the brand name
Confirm the seventeen-container composition, blue-lid design and condition of the merchandise. Other Mr. Lid packs and individual containers are sold separately, and broad lifestyle images can illustrate the range rather than the exact box contents. Food in the photographs is a prop. Check usable dimensions separately if a sandwich or lunch bag must fit precisely; volume alone does not prove that fit.
The brand promotes a lifetime warranty and a 30-day money-back promise, but the reviewed registration page did not establish detailed coverage, exclusions or return costs. Obtain the applicable written terms before relying on those promises. Our tagged Amazon link opens search results, not a verified listing, so match the seller and bundle and compare the final delivered cost without assuming all results are equivalent.
