TacLight Max 8348 is worth a look if you want one rechargeable handheld light for both broad nearby illumination and a more concentrated spot. The adjustable beam and lower-output choices are more useful buying information than claims about being many times brighter than an undefined comparison light.

We would choose it for its control layout and charging convenience, not as a proven search-and-rescue or emergency-service light. The public product record is sparse, and its strongest performance claims are in promotional graphics rather than an independently verified specification sheet.

What matters in daily use

The manufacturer shows one button cycling five modes: 25-percent, 50-percent and full output, then strobe and SOS. Multiple modes can be useful, but they also mean learning how to reach the setting you need rather than assuming every press simply turns steady light on or off.

An adjustable beam trades spread for concentration. A wide setting helps with nearby areas while a narrow setting may be useful for directing light, but the advertised zoom multiplier does not establish a measured distance at which objects remain identifiable.

Rechargeability avoids routine replacement of disposable cells, but it creates a charging dependency. Keep a suitable charging opportunity in your plan and do not assume a power-bank or replaceable-battery function that the exact source does not establish.

Evidence and unanswered questions

The 8348 gallery depicts about 4.5 hours charging and up to 15 hours runtime. The runtime claim is not tied to a clearly documented output setting in our source, so it should not be interpreted as 15 hours at maximum brightness.

The package and graphics also use large brightness and zoom multipliers and an LED-life figure. We have no defined comparison light, verified lumen output, beam-distance test or battery-cycle test. LED lifespan is not runtime and does not establish the service life of the complete flashlight.

Look for model 8348 and the wide-beam TacLight Max package. Bell+Howell sells several flashlight families, so a similar black barrel does not establish the same battery, dimensions or performance.

If you need a dependable work specification, ask for lumen output, runtime by mode and a documented water-resistance rating. If your priority is a general household flashlight, judge the beam adjustment, mode sequence and charging arrangement before giving weight to multiplier slogans.
