Verdict: a useful supplement to fixing the source
The Zevo Model 4 plug-in trap is a sensible option when flying insects are an ongoing nuisance and there is an accessible outlet near the activity. The covered cartridge offers a tidier-looking way to collect adults than an exposed sticky strip. Buy it with the expectation of maintaining a small trap, rather than solving every infestation simply by plugging something in.
The main trade-off is recurring cartridge expense. That may be worthwhile for someone who dislikes handling open bait containers, but it deserves the same attention as the initial device price. We have not tested this trap or counted its catches. Our assessment combines manufacturer information, exact-bundle verification and extension guidance on controlling the source of flies.

Facts: count the cartridges carefully
The selected ASIN B0CKY689WQ is the full-size Model 4 bundle with one plug-in device and three total cartridges. Its packaging explicitly shows that count. Do not add an assumed fourth starter cartridge. Zevo’s official starter-kit page describes its own one-cartridge package; it corroborates the trap family, not this retailer bundle’s contents.

Features: light, adhesive and a covered cartridge
Blue and ultraviolet light attract flying insects toward an adhesive cartridge. Captured insects remain on that disposable surface behind the white shield; there is no electrical zapping mechanism. The source photographs show the cartridge lifting out by its top tab. That arrangement is appealing if you want to dispose of the collecting surface without displaying it in the room.
Placement is more important than finding any spare socket. Zevo advises an unobstructed position near activity and away from competing bright screens. Before ordering, identify the actual outlet you would use. If the practical choices are hidden behind furniture, blocked by a curtain or far from the nuisance, another trapping approach may be easier to place effectively.
This review does not assign the newer reminder-light behavior, Compact design or Max features to Model 4. Similar-looking listings can mix generations and cartridge formats. Match the full-size device and refills instead of comparing a bundle solely by the biggest number on its package.

Research: catching adults is one part of control
University of Maryland Extension identifies sanitation and removal of larval development sites as the primary control for fruit flies. Refrigerating susceptible fruit, rinsing recycling and addressing damp food-contaminated materials tackle the conditions that support them. A trap can collect adults while that work is underway, but catches alone do not prove the breeding source has disappeared.
For other indoor flies, the same extension service recommends identifying breeding sites and checking entry points such as screens. Our buying inference is simple: persistent catches should prompt investigation, not just an automatic purchase of more devices. Different small flies can come from different sources, so identify the insect when the problem continues.
A dedicated Bob Vila review published February 24, 2026 shows current-year editorial attention to the Zevo family. Its writer tested a starter kit with separately obtained refills, not this exact three-cartridge bundle. We do not adopt that review’s rating or present its observations as our own testing. Current viral momentum is not established.

Safety: keep the electrical device dry
Use the trap in an appropriate dry indoor location and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Zevo says to clean the housing with a dry cloth and never immerse it. Read the supplied directions before installation, especially where a nearby sink or routine cleaning could expose the outlet area to moisture.
The cartridge is single-use. Inspect it and replace it when full or compromised; do not wash the adhesive and expect restored performance. Store spare cartridges dry. Treat the protected appearance as a convenience, not a reason to let children handle the trap or to stop checking its condition.

Buying: compare the cost of continued use
Check that the selected offer is one Model 4 base plus three cartridges, then price compatible full-size refills. Compare like-for-like totals across starter kits and refill-only packs. A large refill count is unhelpful if the package contains no device or the cartridges fit another format.

Questions: expectations before plugging it in
Does this bundle contain four cartridges?
No. The selected package shows one device and three cartridges in total.
Is it a bug zapper?
No. Light attracts insects and a sticky cartridge captures them.
Will it eliminate the breeding source?
Do not expect that. Locate and remove the conditions supporting the insects while trapping adults.
Can I clean and reuse a cartridge?
Zevo identifies the adhesive cartridges as single-use. Replace them rather than washing them.
