Quick answer
A wet-dry floor washer is worth considering when compatible hard floors need frequent washing and you are prepared to maintain tanks and removable parts afterward. A spin mop remains worth considering when you prefer a non-powered setup and can manage its bucket, wringing and head-washing routine.
Compare the complete job. The convenient-looking pass across the floor is only one stage, and neither option is maintenance-free.
First check the floor, not the machine
Identify the flooring and finish, then follow its manufacturer's care guidance. Do not read a cleaning-tool claim about “hard floors” as blanket approval for every wood, laminate or damaged surface. The National Wood Flooring Association advises against wet and steam mops on wood and recommends prompt spill cleanup with a slightly damp cloth.
Tineco's S5 manual lists indoor non-carpeted surfaces such as tile, vinyl and sealed wood. That describes the appliance's intended use; it does not replace your floor's care instructions. If those instructions conflict or are unclear, resolve that before adding water or buying equipment.
Separate the water question from the power question
It is inaccurate to assume that every manual mop repeatedly uses one undivided bucket. O-Cedar's RinseClean uses separate clean- and dirty-water compartments and pedal-operated wringing. Its mop head is washable. Those features let you compare a two-reservoir manual system with a powered one on more useful terms.
Tineco lists separate clean- and dirty-water tanks for the standard S5, along with a cordless format and a charging dock. The important buying question is whether that arrangement suits your cleaning pattern and storage, not whether “separate tanks” appears in the advertising.
Budget for the last five steps
For a floor washer, plan for emptying, washing, drying, storage and charging. For the S5, Tineco says to clean and fully dry the dirty-water tank, filter, brush roller and roller cover after every use. Switch the appliance off and disconnect the power supply before manual maintenance. Empty the tank, remove debris and rinse the removable parts; let the filter and roller dry completely before reinstalling. Keep water out of the main body and charger. Self-cleaning still leaves the tank to empty and clean. Use Tineco's specified solution and dilution, and store the machine upright indoors in a dry place.
For a spin mop, include carrying and emptying the bucket, washing the head and drying everything. For RinseClean, O-Cedar says to rinse the bucket compartments after use and let them dry before storage. Leave the clean-water tank's blue fill cap and red flow valve open while it air-dries. Hand- or machine-wash the mop head without bleach or fabric softener, then lay it flat to dry. Store the bucket dry and away from excessive sunlight. The non-powered choice still has an aftercare routine.
Choose around the jobs you repeat
Write down three recent floor-cleaning jobs. Were they small isolated spills, a regular whole-room wash or mainly dry debris? Note the floor type and whether furniture or stairs complicate access. This simple record is more useful than treating a promotional demonstration as a match for your home.
For small spot jobs, your existing floor-approved routine may remain the simplest answer. For regular larger washing sessions, a powered system may fit better if its aftercare is acceptable. For a manual system, check whether you can comfortably handle the filled bucket and operate its wringer. These are buying judgments, not measured speed or effort rankings.
