Verdict: convenience for adults who value a repeatable routine

The Bartesian Premium 55300 is worth considering if mixing separate ingredients is the part of occasional home cocktails you want to simplify. It makes the most sense when you already know you like the available capsule recipes and accept the continuing cost of those capsules alongside separately purchased spirits.

This research-based review covers the Classic touchscreen machine sold as model 55300 under ASIN B07PJ5Q943. We have not tasted its drinks, measured dispensing accuracy, or tested reliability. Our recommendation is conditional: its convenience can be useful, but a manual shaker remains a simpler purchase for someone who enjoys changing recipes freely.

Reasons to consider it

  • Guided capsule identification and mixing
  • Selectable strength including mocktail mode
  • Uses the owner’s chosen spirits

Trade-offs

  • Dedicated capsules add ongoing cost
  • Spirits and ice are separate
  • Cleaning and counter space remain necessary

Facts: identify the Classic touchscreen model

The selected Amazon listing identifies model 55300 and lists dimensions of 12.75 inches deep, 13.25 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall. Allow extra room to open the top and remove bottles; the closed-body measurements alone do not describe a usable serving area.

Bartesian’s care hub separates the Classic touchscreen from Premier and Professional dial-interface models and the two-bottle Duet. Use the Classic guide for this review’s machine. Five spirit types do not mean five simultaneously installed bottles: gin and rum share a position, while vodka, tequila and whiskey have their own.

Features: capsules handle the recipe, you supply the rest

The machine reads a capsule barcode and guides the user through glass choice and strength selection. Its Classic controls offer Mocktail, Light, Regular and Strong. These are recipe settings, not a universal statement about the alcohol content of every finished drink; consult each capsule’s information.

The capsules supply mixers rather than the alcohol. You fill the machine’s designated bottles with compatible spirits, and the separate reservoir takes water only. A photograph of full bottles and finished drinks should not be read as a promise that spirits or capsules arrive with the standard machine.

Plan for ice, glassware, and any shaking or garnish specified by the recipe. This is not a refrigerator or frozen-margarita blender. The appeal is dispensing a prepared recipe conveniently; chilling and finishing still belong to the serving routine. That distinction matters if you expect one button to do every part of the job.

Research: editorial interest does not establish current virality

Tom’s Guide has a dedicated Premium-machine review updated October 28, 2025. That provides dated editorial context for the convenience proposition, not evidence that model 55300 is currently viral. Our October 11, 2026 research did not establish exact-ASIN social acceleration or current sales volume.

For the buying decision, inspect the capsule range before choosing the hardware. A machine can dispense consistently and still be a poor fit if you dislike the available recipes, want fresh-ingredient control, or rarely make more than a familiar two-ingredient drink.

Calculate ownership cost using the drinks you realistically expect to prepare, without increasing consumption to justify the appliance. Include capsules, spirits, cleaning supplies, ice and storage. We have not established that it saves money against either a home bar kit or ordering drinks elsewhere.

Safety and care: adults only, sharp needles, clean lines

The guide limits intended use to responsible adults of legal drinking age. Store spirits and the machine out of children’s reach, supervise access, and do not treat a stronger setting as a challenge. Do not serve alcohol to someone who cannot legally or safely consume it.

Two sharp needles puncture capsules. Keep fingers away from the capsule holder and lid needle, do not open the lid during dispensing, and unplug before manual cleaning. Do not immerse the base or use chipped spirit bottles. Follow the model-specific removal and reassembly steps for seals and valves.

The automatic rinse between drinks does not eliminate maintenance. Before extended nonuse or transport, empty and wash the spirit bottles, refill all four with water, secure their dispenser lids and reinstall them. Put a container of at least 10 ounces under the dispenser, then select Settings, Rinse/Clean and ALL. When the main menu returns, remove the water reservoir and all spirit bottles, keep the waste container under the dispenser and select Settings, Transport and ALL. Wait for the main menu before moving the machine. Unplug before manually cleaning removable parts and keep the base dry. When returning to use, refill the water reservoir and correctly labeled spirit bottles, place an 8-ounce container under the dispenser and run Settings, First Use. In hard-water areas the guide advises descaling every one to two months depending on use. After descaling, refill the bottles and reservoir with fresh water and run Rinse/Clean, ALL at least twice before the First Use prime.

A targeted CPSC search on October 11, 2026 found no matching Bartesian recall. This was a limited indexed check, not a safety certification. Check the current manufacturer notices and exact model identification if buying older stock or a used unit.

Buying: check consumables before committing counter space

Choose this Classic model if its touchscreen workflow, capsule selection and four-bottle arrangement suit your household. Compare newer models on their actual features and manuals rather than assuming a different Bartesian name is cosmetic.

Before ordering, confirm model 55300, ASIN B07PJ5Q943, included empty bottles, seller, warranty and return terms. Check capsule expiry and storage directions separately. Prices and bundles change, so this review does not promise a live price or included cocktail assortment.

Questions: what the machine does and does not supply

Do the capsules contain alcohol?

Bartesian states that its cocktail capsules do not contain alcohol. You provide the spirits separately for alcoholic recipes.

Can gin and rum stay connected together?

On the Classic machine they share a holder. Keep water in the reservoir, place a glass under the dispenser and remove the bottle being replaced. Select Settings, Switch and the spirit position to purge. When the main menu returns, insert the correctly labeled replacement bottle.

Is the automatic rinse enough for storage?

No. Use the rinse-and-drain sequence in the Safety and care section above, and clean the removable parts. The automatic between-drink rinse does not prepare the machine for storage.
