Verdict: suited to targeted, compatible fabric messes
The BISSELL Little Green 1400B is worth considering when you regularly need to treat small spots on washable carpet or upholstery and have room to clean the machine afterward. A separate hose and hand tool let you work on an individual patch without pushing a full-size cleaner across the area.
This is a research-based review of ASIN B0016HF5GK, not a hands-on stain-removal test. We have not measured extraction, noise, drying time or reliability. Its practical appeal is targeted cleaning; whether it is a good purchase depends on your fabrics, recurring messes and willingness to fill, empty and rinse tanks.
Reasons to consider it
- Targeted hose-and-tool cleaning
- Separate clean and dirty tanks
- Manufacturer provides model-specific support
Trade-offs
- Fabric compatibility must be checked
- Manual scrubbing and after-use cleanup remain
- Tool bundle descriptions vary

Facts: identify 1400B before comparing bundles
BISSELL’s 1400B product page specifies a 48-ounce tank, 4.5-foot hose and 15-foot cord. Amazon identifies model 1400B and lists a 9.7-pound item weight. These are reference specifications, not a promise that a filled machine will feel easy to carry or reach every part of a car.
The current official support link opens a guide covering both 3369 and 1400B. Its illustrated tool differs from the Amazon component list. That is a meaningful bundle detail, so this review does not declare every accessory pictured in a gallery to be guaranteed in every box.

Features: spray, scrub and extract in a small area
The cleaning sequence separates applying solution, working the stain with the tool’s bristles and drawing liquid back through the nozzle. The user controls the passes and pressure. A transparent tool face can help you see returning liquid, but the appearance of that liquid cannot establish that a fabric is fully clean.
BISSELL’s setup instructions call for dry-vacuuming loose debris first. That is important for the buying decision: this machine complements a dry vacuum rather than replacing it. If your main task is crumbs and everyday dust, purchasing a wet extractor may add upkeep without addressing your most frequent job.
For stairs or a parked car, plan the location of the unit, hose and outlet before beginning. Reach on paper is not the same as an unobstructed working radius. Narrow access and furniture placement can require repositioning, and a wet-cleaning session still needs a suitable place to empty the recovered water.

Research: the name covers several different machines
We checked the exact Amazon listing, BISSELL’s product page, current manual and support instructions. The Little Green name also appears on other models, so we keep the 1400B identity prominent. Do not transfer a steam, battery, tool or tank claim from a similarly named cleaner without confirming its model.
Our editorial view is that recurring, localized spills are the clearest reason to consider a compact extractor. For infrequent use, very large areas or fabrics requiring specialist treatment, compare the broader cost and effort of ownership before buying. The review does not promise removal of old stains, odors or discoloration.

Safety and care: check fabric and follow the fill limits
Read the upholstery tag before cleaning. The current guide excludes silk and velvet and requires a hidden-area colorfastness check. It also specifies a grounded outlet, suitable BISSELL formula and indoor storage. Keep spray away from electrical components and do not use the machine for hazardous or flammable material.
Warm tap water must stay at or below 140°F/60°C; boiling or microwaved water is prohibited. Follow the formula and water markings. After cleaning, empty the dirty tank before its maximum line, rinse it and clean the tools. The guide says the tanks are not dishwasher-safe. Dry and store the machine where it cannot freeze.

Buying advice: include cleaning supplies and upkeep
Choose this model when compatible spot-cleaning work occurs often enough to justify storing a dedicated machine. Allow for formula, tank access and time for cleanup. If the machine will live far from a sink or the car is far from a safe power source, those logistics may matter more than an advertised cleaning claim.
Confirm model 1400B, ASIN B0016HF5GK and the included tools. Check the seller, final total, delivery and return terms on the current offer. This page makes no live-price or stock promise.

Questions: fabric suitability, tools and care
Does the 1400B produce steam?
This review identifies a liquid spray-and-extract cleaner. Do not buy it on the assumption that Little Green means HydroSteam or that it sterilizes fabric. Other machines using the Little Green name can have different functions.
Can I clean any sofa with it?
No. Check the furniture care label and consult its maker if the label is missing or unclear. The current BISSELL guide prohibits use on silk or velvet and calls for a hidden-area colorfastness test examined after drying.
Can I use boiling water or a homemade cleaner?
No. BISSELL specifies compatible portable-machine formula and warm tap water no hotter than 140°F/60°C. Do not boil or microwave water. Follow the tank fill markings and formula label instead of improvising a mixture.
Does the box contain a 3-inch or 4-inch tool?
The Amazon component list identifies a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool; the current linked 3369/1400B guide illustrates a 4-inch tool and says contents vary. Confirm the selected offer and carton if the tool width or spraying crevice tool matters.
Is HydroRinse a self-cleaning machine feature?
HydroRinse is a hose-cleaning attachment, where included. It does not eliminate dirty-tank emptying, tool rinsing or drying. Treat after-use care as part of the job rather than expecting automatic cleanup of every component.
Will fabric be dry immediately?
Do not assume so. Extraction removes liquid, but drying depends on fabric, how much solution was used and surrounding conditions. We have not measured drying times. Plan access to the area accordingly and follow the upholstery maker’s care directions.
