Verdict: a useful second cleaner for small, frequent messes
The Fuller Brush 17052 makes the most sense when bringing out a vacuum feels excessive for a few crumbs on a low-pile rug. Its appeal is immediate availability: roll it over the area, empty it, and put it away. Our recommendation is conditional on that small-cleanup job being the one you actually need done.
For a home dominated by shag rugs, deeply textured flooring, or heavy shedding, the match is weaker. Fuller itself limits this sweeper to low-pile carpet and smooth floors and warns against large amounts of hair. Those restrictions matter more to a purchase decision than broad multi-surface marketing.
This is a research-based review of the red 17052, not a hands-on test. We checked the manufacturer’s product and accessory pages, its warranty, and the exact Amazon US listing. We have not measured pickup, pushing effort, noise, or long-term durability.
Reasons to consider it
- Ready without charging or plugging in
- Small body suits localized touch-ups
- Replaceable horsehair rotor is explicitly listed for recent 17052 models
- Collection trays avoid a separate dustpan
Trade-offs
- No suction or deep-cleaning function
- High-pile rugs and deeply grooved floors are excluded
- Large hair loads are outside Fuller’s stated use
- Handle dimensions conflict across sources; warranty depends on seller and registration

Facts: the red model, its brush, and the measurements to verify
This article covers red model 17052, Amazon ASIN B00M9Z2URU. Fuller identifies the matching red option as SKU 17052-FB. It is a hand-pushed sweeper with a standard horsehair rotor and a cleaning comb, rather than an electrically powered floor cleaner.
For storage planning, use the dimensions as published specifications, not our measurements. Fuller lists a 7 × 9.5-inch body, a 2⅜-inch head height and a weight below three pounds. Its 45-inch assembled-height figure conflicts with Amazon’s 39-inch table. Do not plan a tight cupboard or buy for a particular handle height until that difference is resolved for the offer you choose.

Features: separate the standard brush from the optional rotor
A manually turned brush and collection trays make a specific trade-off: less setup in exchange for a narrower cleaning role. If you already own a vacuum, the buying question is whether this would make you clear small messes more often. If you are trying to replace your only vacuum, it is the wrong comparison.
The horsehair brush is serviceable. Fuller’s replacement 964-FB page explicitly includes recent 17052 sweepers and excludes older versions. A listed spare is useful, but it does not establish a lifetime of availability or prove that this sweeper will last longer than another brand.
The gray bundle is different: Fuller says it includes an additional vinyl rotor, while the red model has the standard horsehair rotor only. Fuller sells the vinyl rotor separately as 963-FB for current sweepers, describes it for smooth floors and some damp or sticky debris, and excludes carpet. Decide whether you need that accessory before comparing bundle prices.
The gallery includes a red product photo and clearly labeled black-family images showing the handle, comb and emptying arrangement. Fuller says the standard color versions share the same sweeper design; gray’s extra rotor is the stated bundle exception. These marketing images are not test results.

Research: where the broad claims need narrowing
The most important clarification is the floor type. Fuller’s detailed description says electrostatic action applies on rugs and carpeting. Its suitability list also includes smooth hard floors, where buyers should understand this as a brush-driven pickup tool. We would not turn that into a promise of identical fine-dust pickup on wood and carpet.
Hair handling is another reason to read past the headline. A listing can mention pet hair while the manufacturer still excludes large quantities. That combination points toward maintenance between deeper cleans, rather than a solution for a room already covered in shed fur. We have not independently determined the quantity at which pickup becomes unsatisfactory.
The available evidence supports the product identity, intended surfaces, included brush and available replacement parts. It does not establish a measured cleaning rate, allergy benefit, guaranteed scratch protection, or superiority over a cheaper sweeper. We also found a conflicting handle-height specification, so the facts tab preserves both values instead of presenting false precision.

Care and limits: protect the floor and keep the brush clear
Use the tool within its stated surface limits and follow the floor or rug maker’s care instructions. Check for trapped grit before rolling across a finish you care about. Avoid fringes and loose threads that could catch in a rotating brush, and stop if the sweeper catches or requires force.
Empty the collection trays over a bin and use the supplied comb for wrapped hair, as Fuller directs. A motor-free product still needs cleaning: leaving the roller packed with fibers defeats the purpose of a quick-grab tool. Keep fingers clear of moving brush parts while inspecting it.
Treat the standard horsehair setup as a dry-cleanup tool unless its supplied instructions say otherwise. The separate vinyl accessory’s damp-debris description does not make the whole sweeper a wet vacuum. Likewise, we do not recommend relying on a casual sweeper pass for broken glass or other sharp debris; use a suitable collection method and inspect the area carefully.

Buying: compare the actual bundle and the seller’s warranty status
Choose the red 17052 when you want a small manual sweeper for compatible surfaces and you already have a way to do deeper cleaning. A broom and dustpan may be enough if loose debris on hard flooring is your only problem. A suitable vacuum remains the more appropriate starting point for embedded dirt, substantial hair or a whole-home primary cleaner.
Compare the full offer: selected color, supplied rotor, cleaning comb, shipping, seller, return terms and final total. A replacement brush or vinyl rotor by itself is not a complete sweeper. The link below targets the verified red-model ASIN; marketplace offers can change.
Read the three-year limited warranty before paying extra for the brand. Fuller limits it to the original registered home/personal-use purchaser buying from Fuller or an authorized dealer, excludes commercial use and unauthorized sources, and assigns applicable shipping and handling costs to the customer. Check whether your particular seller qualifies. The phrase “three-year warranty” alone does not settle that question.

Questions: hardwood, pet hair, brush compatibility and height
Does the Fuller Brush 17052 work on hardwood floors?
Fuller lists smooth hard floors as suitable, while limiting the electrostatic effect to rugs and carpeting. Treat it as a mechanical sweeper on smooth hardwood. Follow the floor maker’s care guidance and keep the wheels and brushes free of grit. Rough or deeply grooved flooring is outside the stated intended use.
Is it a good choice for a home with shedding pets?
It may suit small, frequent fur touch-ups, but Fuller explicitly excludes large amounts of hair. For a heavy-shedding household, choose a vacuum suited to your surfaces as the main cleaner. The included comb also means brush maintenance is part of ownership, not something the roller eliminates.
Can the red 17052 handle high-pile or shag carpet?
Fuller says it will not work on high-pile carpet. Buy for the actual rug pile in your home; a broad “carpet sweeper” title is not a reason to ignore that limit.
Does the red version include the extra vinyl blade rotor?
No. Fuller says the gray edition is the color that includes the additional vinyl rotor. The red 17052 comes with the standard horsehair rotor. Confirm the selected seller’s bundle if the offer describes extra accessories.
Can I use the optional vinyl rotor on carpet?
No. Fuller’s separate 963-FB accessory listing specifies smooth floors and excludes carpeting. Its damp-debris claims belong to that accessory and should not be applied to the standard red sweeper’s horsehair brush.
Which replacement brush fits the Fuller 17052?
Fuller’s 964-FB horsehair replacement listing names recent model 17052 among the compatible sweepers. It excludes older models. Check your model and the current fit list, especially when replacing the brush in a vintage sweeper.
Is the assembled handle 39 or 45 inches tall?
The sources disagree: Fuller lists 45 inches fully assembled, while the checked Amazon specifications say 39 inches. We have not measured a sample. If handle fit or storage clearance determines your purchase, ask the seller or Fuller to confirm the shipped version.
Does an Amazon purchase automatically get the three-year warranty?
Do not assume that. Fuller’s published limited warranty requires the original home/personal-use buyer to purchase from Fuller or an authorized dealer and register ownership. It excludes commercial buyers and unauthorized sources, and the buyer may owe shipping and handling. Verify the specific seller before relying on the warranty.
