Hurricane Spin Mop Review: Pedal Wringing Without a Motor

A foot pedal handles the wringing while a pivoting microfiber head reaches around furniture. The bucket still needs filling, carrying and cleaning.

Our research-based verdict

Hurricane Spin Mop is a reasonable option if you like traditional bucket mopping but dislike twisting a wet mop by hand. Its appeal is mechanical wringing, not powered scrubbing or automatic disinfection. We have not tested pickup, residual moisture, pedal durability or handling with a filled bucket.

The trade-off is the bucket itself. For a small spot-cleaning job, filling and carrying it may be more effort than using a simpler mop. For a larger washable floor, the pedal can make repeated wringing less messy. Consider your storage space and ability to operate the pedal as well as the mop head.

Reasons to consider it

  • Foot-operated spin basket reduces hand wringing.
  • Washable microfiber head and pivoting design.

Trade-offs

  • Filled bucket still has to be carried and emptied.
  • Spinning water out does not establish sanitization.

The original pedal-bucket system

This review covers the Hurricane Spin Mop listed by BulbHead under SKU 7384, also marketed with 360-degree wording on its packaging. It is not the separately sold dolly, replacement heads, an electric spin scrubber or an In and Out mop system.

What the pedal changes

The bucket’s basket spins the mop head to remove water after rinsing. That is the main difference from a squeeze wringer: your foot supplies the motion instead of your hands twisting wet fibers. The head’s pivoting arrangement is intended to help it lie flatter near furniture and reach around edges.

Decide where the bucket will sit while you work. Repeated trips across a room can undermine the convenience of easier wringing, while placing it in a narrow passage creates an obstacle. The separate dolly is not assumed to be part of this package.

A washable head is useful only if you are willing to clean and dry it between sessions. Check replacement-head compatibility before buying several spares. A generic round microfiber head with a similar appearance is not automatically the same attachment.

Cleaning claims versus established facts

We checked the current BulbHead product listing, distributor imagery and model 7384 identity on October 16, 2026. BulbHead offers the system even though the Lowe’s cross-check page says it no longer sells that listing. One retailer’s status does not establish that the product is discontinued.

The official copy and graphics make strong claims about water removal, absorbency and cleanliness. We have no exact-model measurements supporting a particular absorption multiple or proving that spin-drying removes germs. The gallery’s before-and-after scenes are manufacturer demonstrations, not results from our own cleaning test.

Floor compatibility comes first

Follow your flooring manufacturer’s rules for wet cleaning and allowed solutions. A microfiber head does not make excess water harmless to a floor that should remain only lightly damp. Test an inconspicuous area and wring appropriately instead of assuming the system suits every finish.

Keep the bucket stable, avoid overreaching while pressing the pedal, and keep children away from the spinning mechanism. Wet floors can be slippery. Empty the bucket after use and follow the head’s care instructions; do not treat dirty wash water as clean simply because the mop has been spun.

Check what the package actually contains

Compare the complete mop-and-pedal-bucket system rather than a replacement-head or dolly listing. Confirm model 7384, head quantity and whether any wheels are genuinely included. Retailer suffixes and bundle descriptions should be checked rather than assumed equivalent.

Our Amazon link opens tagged search results, not an exact verified listing. Inspect the selected photos, seller and return policy. For value, include the ongoing cost of compatible replacement heads rather than focusing only on the initial package.

Common buying questions

Does the mop scrub by itself?

No. The pedal drives the wringer basket. You still move the mop over the floor.

Does the bucket disinfect the mop head?

We found no evidence establishing that. Removing water is not the same as disinfection.

Are wheels included?

Do not assume so. BulbHead lists the Hurricane Spin Mop Dolly separately.

Why does a retailer say it is no longer sold?

That describes the retailer’s listing. The current manufacturer page still offers Hurricane Spin Mop.

We checked the exact product identity against the primary sources below. Dated source checks and limitations are described in the review. Published specifications and seller imagery are not independent performance tests.
