Verdict: useful when your phone and mounting edge both fit
The Perilogics Universal Airplane Phone Holder is worth considering if you watch downloaded entertainment on your own phone and want a support that packs down between trips. Its usefulness depends on two separate checks: whether the upper jaws hold your phone securely and whether the lower clamp has a suitable place to attach.
This review covers the Black single-holder model TRVAL101BK, Amazon ASIN B07T8KL6C6. We researched the manufacturer page and retailer listing; we have not flown with it or tested clamping force, vibration resistance or long-term joint wear. Our recommendation is conditional on fit, rather than a promise of stability on every aircraft.
Reasons to consider it
- Adjustable viewing position
- Compact form for a travel pouch
- Also usable on suitable desk edges
Trade-offs
- Phone cases and edge shape matter
- Published clamp limits differ
- Strong movement can affect stability

Facts: the exact Black single-holder model
Perilogics identifies the Black option as TRVAL101BK. Bundles, other colors and the separately advertised Gen 2 holder should not be treated as this exact item. Use the model and ASIN when comparing offers.
The measurements below are published specifications, not our measurements. Leave room below the stated maximum instead of making a purchase that depends on the final fraction of an inch.

Features: position the screen without overlooking the edge
The two rotating joints allow changes in screen orientation and angle. Think through your likely setup before buying: a phone used for a film may need a different position from one used to read subtitles, tap playback controls or make a video call at a desk.
The current Amazon bullets specify a firm, flat mounting edge and advise against rounded, padded, flexible or irregular surfaces. A luggage handle pictured in a demonstration is therefore not a guarantee for your own suitcase. Evaluate the actual contact area, rather than matching only the object’s name.
For a sensible first setup, support the phone with one hand while checking the jaws and adjusting the joints. Make sure the clamp avoids side buttons and that any charging lead has slack. If the position requires repeated readjustment, choose another permitted location or keep the phone safely stowed.

Research: historical attention and conflicting fit numbers
Good Housekeeping included the Perilogics holder in its May 14, 2025 TikTok-viral travel roundup. That establishes dated editorial attention to this product. We did not measure social views or current reach, and the roundup does not establish that the holder is currently viral.
Fit deserves more attention than that label. The official page gives a 1.5-inch base opening, while current Amazon bullets say 1.6 inches / 4 cm. Older descriptive text on Amazon also lists a 3.75-inch phone opening, compared with the newer 3.82-inch maximum. We cannot determine whether those differences reflect rounding or revised copy. Confirm fit if your setup sits near either limit.

Safety: a stable setup still needs your attention
The listing cautions that strong vibration, sudden movement and severe turbulence can affect stability. Keep a hand on the phone during adjustments, and stop using a setup that slips or flexes. Inspect the holder for damaged jaws or loose joints before another trip.
Follow cabin-crew instructions and stow the mount whenever required. Keep it within your own space, clear of access routes and controls. Before moving or closing a tray table, remove the phone and check where the holder will go. A travel accessory should not complicate quickly putting your belongings away.

Buying advice: measure first, then compare the offer
Buy this model when you have a suitable phone-and-case combination and expect to use a compatible mounting edge. A basic tabletop stand may be a simpler choice if most viewing happens on a flat desk. If your seat already has a good phone support, the extra clamp may add little to that particular trip.
Before checkout, confirm Black, a single holder and ASIN B07T8KL6C6. Check the seller, return terms and final total. Keep packaging until you have assessed the fit at home, and download entertainment before leaving if you plan to watch without a reliable connection. Questions: fit, trays and charging
Will a phone in a thick case fit?
Measure the complete phone-and-case assembly. A wallet, battery case or protruding grip can compromise the hold even when the phone’s bare dimensions look suitable.
Will it fit every airplane tray table?
No universal fit is established. Check the available edge, its thickness and shape, then confirm that the tray can still be used and stowed as the crew requires.
Can I use it as a tablet holder?
This review covers a phone holder. Do not extrapolate its listed phone fit to a tablet or another heavier device.
Does “wireless” mean it charges my phone?
No charging function is documented for this holder. Plan your phone’s battery and charging cable separately from how you support the screen.
