Verdict: a useful helper for repeated small screws

The SKIL Twist 2.0 SD5619-01 makes the most sense for furniture hardware, cabinet adjustments and similar small fastening jobs. Its powered rotation can remove some repetitive wrist turning, while the angled head gives you another way to approach an awkward screw. We would choose it as a compact household screwdriver, provided the job does not require drilling, impact force or a specified final tightening torque.

This research-based review covers the two-bit kit, Amazon ASIN B0CGLMRLLD. We have not measured its battery endurance, fastening speed or durability. The buying question is whether your regular tasks involve many easy-to-turn screws. If you mostly break loose seized fasteners or drive construction screws, those are different tool requirements.

Reasons to consider it

  • Three head positions for awkward access
  • Small rechargeable tool with work light
  • Standard quarter-inch hex bit holder

Trade-offs

  • Only two bits in this kit
  • Integrated battery cannot be swapped mid-job
  • Not a precision torque instrument

Facts: the two-bit SD5619-01 kit

SKIL identifies the selected kit as SD5619-01. It includes PH2 Phillips and SL6 slotted two-inch bits plus a USB-A to USB-C cable. The 28-piece assortment is a separate kit, so photographs or listings showing a larger accessory collection should not determine what you expect in this box.

The manufacturer lists 240 rpm no-load speed, three torque settings and head positions of 0, 22.5 and 45 degrees. The manufacturer manual names the underlying SD5619-00 tool and covers the kit variants in its filename. That distinction explains the differing suffixes without implying different tool specifications.

Features: changing the angle without losing alignment

The pivot changes how the handle sits in your hand; the bit still needs to meet the screw straight. Before buying, picture the actual obstruction: a drawer wall, a hinge recess or the space behind a handle. An angled body may help, but a deeply recessed screw can still need a suitable longer bit, and a narrow opening can exclude the tool entirely.

The forward/reverse control and LED are practical conveniences for repeated assembly. The torque choices let you start gently, but three settings are not a substitute for a calibrated torque driver. When an appliance, bicycle component or other assembly gives a numerical tightening requirement, use an appropriate tool and that assembly’s instructions.

Research: useful historical testing, with clear limits

Popular Mechanics published an exact SD5619-01 test on March 12, 2025. Its reviewer described useful access for drawer hardware and a helpful work light, while noting the lack of onboard storage for the spare bit. Those are one reviewer’s observations, not our testing or evidence of current viral popularity.

Our conclusion is based on that dated test, the current manufacturer description, the manufacturer manual and the exact Amazon listing. A sensible comparison is with the manual screwdriver you already own: the SKIL adds charging and another item to store in exchange for powered turns. For a few occasional screws, that trade may be less compelling than for a flat-pack project.

Safety: start gently and charge as instructed

Use the correct bit, secure the work and keep the bit aligned. The manual advises beginning threaded fasteners by hand to avoid a bad start. Stop and reassess a stalled or slipping screw rather than repeatedly forcing it; stripping the head or crushing the material can turn a small job into a repair. Wear suitable eye protection and keep clear of live wiring.

The manual specifies a certified 5V, maximum 1A USB supply, which is not included, and charging between 41 and 104°F. The tool does not run while charging. Keep liquid out, inspect for damage, and use the lock-off before changing bits, cleaning or storing it. Follow the supplied manual for full maintenance and charging directions.

Buying: budget for the bits your furniture actually uses

Check the screw heads in your planned projects before ordering. PH2 and SL6 will not cover every hex, Torx or other furniture fastener. Price the correct compatible bits along with the tool, and keep a small storage solution available for the loose spare bit and charging cable.

The exact Amazon listing was checked on October 12, 2026, and showed three new-offer options, although the primary price display did not provide a dependable featured offer. Check the selected two-bit variant, seller, condition, delivery, return terms and final total directly before purchase. We are not publishing a current price or promising stock.

Compare manual bit storage and powered screwdriving against the fasteners and access you need.

Questions: practical answers before you buy

Can it work as a manual screwdriver?

Yes. The manual describes an automatic spindle lock for manual turning, including when the battery is depleted. Use controlled force and the correct bit.

Does USB-C mean a wall charger is included?

No. This kit includes the charging cable. The manual calls for a compatible certified USB power supply purchased or supplied separately.

Is it a drill replacement?

Choose it for driving and removing screws. If your project needs pilot holes, arrange a suitable drill and bit rather than expecting this kit to perform the whole job.
