The one-piece structure reduces the number of setup decisions: place it, check that it sits level, and position the laptop. That can suit a workstation you do not want to readjust every morning. It is less helpful for a shared desk where users need substantially different screen positions.
The rear cable opening gives leads a route behind the platform, while the space below can hold a suitable keyboard when it is not in use. Neither feature eliminates the need to measure. A wide keyboard may protrude, and a bulky connector or dock still needs somewhere accessible to sit.

The manufacturer describes the aluminum as a heat sink and says the tilt improves airflow. Those are design claims, not temperature results established here. How your laptop behaves depends on its vents, materials, workload, and surroundings. Do not buy this expecting a specified cooling improvement or a substitute for resolving an overheating fault.
This is an established practical accessory, not a verified current viral trend. Historical owner attention and Amazon demand indicators may explain its visibility, but they do not answer the important question of whether its unchanging height works for your eyes, chair, and desk.
